Wine Tasting Part Deux

Okay so...by now it's now clear that I like wine tastings. Although I barely ever drink alcohol...knowing a good wine and a good bubbly are important for a young woman to have under her belt. This past weekend, I took the students from this semester on yet another wine tasting! We went to a new place this time and I enjoyed it. The one we went to last semester had more historic value and elegance but I loved the classic/vintage cars this place had and took a few pics...

I'm being too lazy to organize them so enjoy the random variety...

This is the trademark of the Freixinet corporation.

This is at the Sadurni vineyards that we go to every semester. The grapes should be popping up in the next month or two...this is pre-pop up.
Just some pretty wild flowers that have taken over the vineyards

After the first visit we went to Sitges (a beach outside of Barcelona) to have lunch. Our lunch wasn't the best but the view was beautiful as always and the sun was out which makes it even more spectacular.

I don't know what it is but there is something about the trees around this place that keep me intrigued. There are so many different trees and I refuse to stop shooting them until they all start to look alike.

Here I am at the end of the cava tour (sparkling wine of Spain) I'm looking into my glass and I'm starting to feel a littttttle light headed. I'm looking at putting this down now and eating lots of the goldfish that were there to accompany the cava.

Like I said, totally out of order...but as we got a tour of the vineyard and the production area we got onto a trolley-ish thing that took us around the new part of the cava production area. I thought this was a cool shot.

Here are just some of the many bottles of cava I was introduced to that day.

Freixent is the biggest producer of cava in the world and I never noticed it before. Tonight I went to a sushi restaurant and the first thing I saw on my table was a deal for some Freixent vino tinto (red wine). I guess once you're introduced to something it pops up everywhere.

Barriles
Maquinas
I promise, you've never seen this much alcohol in one room in your life. It's unreal.

Dionysus - the god of wine.

Barrels and barrels of booze

In the entrance to the building were these really beautiful flowers. I didn't even come close to catching their beauty but look at the picture and use your imagination.

As I've said in many a prior blog, I love vintage cars. Some things never go out of style and a classic car with a fresh coat of paint is one of them.

We'll call this the Freixnet wagon...there was another car that was the shape of a bottle but if you want to see that you'll have to go on your own.

I finish off the day with a nice 2005 vino tinto and purchased a very nice bottle of white wine for memory sake of my last wine tasting of the semester.
